The Future of Hawaiian Rainbow

Rich Shipley here, with a request for your help.

Please support Hawaiian Rainbow with a donation of $20, $10, or choose any amount you feel comfortable with. If you enjoy the music on Hawaiian Rainbow, and you are in a position to help, it will go a long ways toward keeping the station on the air.

If you're seeing this on your first time listening, I'm sorry. Listen to Hawaiian Rainbow for a while, enjoy it. If find you enjoy it, and you think you'd like to donate, please click the support link on any of the pages and make a contribution.

Why are you doing this?

Costs for running the station have gone way up, and donations have gone way down. I have been making significant upgrades to the sound quality this year, and I know you listeners enjoy that. But it has been a very tough year for donations to the station. We all know the economy is not the best right now. But the expenses of running this station have gone up significantly this year to a point where I cannot support the station strictly from my own funds. I just can't do it. That's why I'm asking you to make a contribution if you can. If things are just too tight for you, please just keep listening, and I hope things get better for everybody soon.

What happens if I don't?

Nothing right away. I'm not going to lock people out, or take the station down anytime soon. But I do find myself thinking I may need to do just that in the not so distant future. Hawaiian Rainbow has been a labor of love for me for 10 years now. I'd like very much to keep it going if I possibly can.

I'm just asking for a little help to keep things going.

As you may know, I recently had a couple of contests with iPod giveaways. I was hoping that might be a fun way to stimulate donations. In the end they did little more than cover the costs.

I have always tried to stay away from the whole begging for money thing that some Hawaiian stations have done so well. I have never interrupted the music on this station with that kind of begging, and I don't intend to start now, but you may hear a brief reminder just once when you first start listening.

Thank you very much for listening and for your support.
